New to ethical shopping? Welcome to the adventure! Whatever led you here, you are probably wondering what to do next. And if you searched the web for answers, you may also feel overwhelmed. And we are here to help get you started on your journey.
Find answers to your questions below:
What is Ethical Shopping & Fair Trade?
ETHICAL SHOPPING means buying products made without exploiting people, animals or the environment. (Learn more.)
FAIR TRADE is a way of doing business that ensures that workers at all levels of the supply chain are paid fairly. (Learn more.)
Why Shop Ethically?
You can know you avoided supporting forced labor or exploitation in the products you buy.
You get to support causes such as fighting human trafficking, and giving a hand up to widows and refugees.
You will treasure each product you purchase because you will know who made it and the story behind it.
How Do I Get Started?
Change just ONE purchase. Switching all of your shopping to ethically-made products can be overwhelming. So, pick just one item you regularly shop for and start buying that item from an ethical brand. (See "Change One Shopping Habit" for the impact that switch can have.)
Shop SECONDHAND. It is easy, local, helps the environment, prevents more products being produced unethically, and it is cheap! (To learn more, see "How to Shop Secondhand.")
